I wanted to include this page on our site to address church hurt. Many have been hurt in or by the Christian Church. Church hurt takes different forms. Some hurt has been from taking up an unintended offense, some hurt has been from words spoken by someone who lacks spiritual maturity, some hurt has been from spiritual abuse, some hurt has been from church splits and some hurt has been from theological and doctrinal disagreements. The enemy wants to divide us. The Lord wants to unite us.

Regardless of the reason, the Lord desires for us to be healed and walk in unity of the Spirit. Unity of the Spirit doesn’t mean we agree on everything. It means we allow the Spirt to lead us, to work on each of us and give each other some grace as we grow in spiritual maturity.

In late 2022, my wife and I went through a church split. Our hearts were broken over the toll it took on those there. During this time, my wife and I had what I would call a dream/vision/visitation. We wanted to share this experience below and also share what we believe is a healing word from the Lord. This is for you to read, prayerfully consider and receive or reject as you are led by Holy Spirit.

On November 17 , 2021, I was semi-awakened around 4:45 in the morning and began praying into a situation at our church. Not knowing exactly how to pray, I started praying in tongues. Then, I heard and saw the word "illocution" spelled I-L-L-O-C-U-T-I-O-N. I had heard of the word elocution with an E before but not Illocution. This caused me to fully awaken and sit up on the side of my bed. I had no understanding of the word, so I looked up the definition. I happened to bring up a chart on the word. There were several states of this word depending on it’s mode of use. The spirit drew my attention to this specific definition. 

"Bring a state of affairs into existence by declaring it so." 

As I was viewing the chart, I turned my phone on its side to get a better view. I heard a 3 second burst of what sounded like a beautiful chorus of angels over my phone speaker. I turned to look to see if it woke my wife Debby up. It hadn’t. I turned my phone up and then sideways again and heard the chorus again and at that point, Debby woke up and asked; What was that? Not wanting to influence her opinion, I said; I don’t know, what do you think it was? She said; It sounded like a chorus of angels! I agreed. It was incredibly beautiful.

Debby said; See if it will do it again! When I did, Debby and I both saw a vision of a beautiful woman singing these words you are not hidden, then the music stopped again after 3 seconds. So, I turned my phone upright and sideways 3 more times and this is what we heard each time.

You have been broken

Then we heard -  Your innocence stolen

Then we heard -  I hear your whisper

After the last time, my phone went blank and no matter how I tried I could not get this to happen again nor could I find the chart.

I believe this was a word for the Church - more specifically for those who have been wounded and disillusioned by what was taking place in the church. I sensed the Spirit telling me - Pray in tongues (in the Spirit) throughout each day. Pray in tongues when under attack or stress or in a challenging situation. The Spirt of the Lord knows your situation and the desires of your heart and they will be a declaration "in the spirit" declaring them so.

Months afterwards, I was seeking the Lord on this and below is what I sensed The Spirit wants to say to those who have been hurt.

You Are Not Hidden

 I see your hidden heart and your wounded spirit. I am doing a healing in you. I have been with you this whole time, even in that place where you have felt hidden and unnoticed. Now is the time to come out from your spiritual hiding place and step into your kingdom destiny as a child of the King. I’m asking you to take risks, to be transparent so that as you are healed others will see the work I am doing in you. This is what a Kingdom warrior does.  

You Have Been Broken

 I know the brokenness you feel and how the trust you once had has been broken. I am The Lord Who Heals You. Allow me to shift your perspective of church from one built as a monument to men’s ability, to one led by my Spirit where you and others who walk by my Spirit, come together in community to encourage one another, build each other up in the faith and go out to transform your city, the region and the world. 

Your Innocence Stolen

I am restoring your spiritual innocence. I am restoring to you the joy of my salvation and granting you a willing spirit, to sustain you for the battle.  Psalm 51 Everywhere you set your foot will be a place called Baal Perazim (A Place Where God Breaks Out and Breaks Through) 2 Samuel 5:20 

I Hear Your Whisper 

Your shout was turned into a whisper. No longer will the enemy diminish your voice. I am not only restoring your voice but giving you increase. When you speak, the enemy will hear the roar of The Lion of Judah and the fatherless will hear the voice of a loving Father.

Our hope is that this has ministered to you and you will seek the Lord to find a community of Spirit filled believers who will love on you.
